class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\"> Intervention recommended for patients with secondary mitral regurgitation, who remain symptomatic despite guideline-directed medical therapy <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-brand-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Use your experience of severe aortic stenosis to ensure the best patient outcomes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The choice between surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) and transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) must be made following evaluation of all factors \u2013 clinical, anatomical and procedural \u2013 weighing the risks and benefits of each approach for all patients with severe aortic stenosis, and after discussion with the patient. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-normal-font-size\" style=\"font-weight: normal\">SAVR is recommended in younger patients under 75 years<\/strong>, who are low surgical risk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-normal-font-size\" style=\"font-weight: normal\">TAVI is now recommended for all patients with severe aortic stenosis 75 years <\/strong>or older, who are suitable for transfemoral TAVI, based on clinical trial and registry data.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-normal-font-size\" style=\"font-weight: normal\">Further Heart Team evaluation is required for all remaining patients \u2013 such as those under 75 years with a risk score between 4% and 8%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"396\" src=\"https:\/\/edwardseducation.com\/edwardsmasters\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/09\/28SEPT21_Web-page-1_SAVR-TAVI-Figure_1-0-1024x396.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5353\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Treatment options have broadened for patients with asymptomatic aortic stenosis, including those with systolic left ventricular (LV) dysfunction (LV ejection fraction &lt;55%) without another cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-brand-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Enable more of your patients to live the active lifestyle they desire<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Bioprosthetic valves now have a Class I recommendation for patients with life expectancy lower than the durability of the valve. Now, more of your patients can live a life free from anticoagulation.
